Annette Y. Harris, AICI FLC
President and Founder, Harris ImageWorks, LLC
Annette Y. Harris is the President and founder of Harris ImageWorks, LLC. With more than 15 years of leadership and professional experience, a flare for fashion, and a passion for professional presence, it seemed only natural for her to create Harris ImageWorks. Having received positive feedback on her speaking skills, professionalism, and appearance over the years, Ms. Harris decided to develop a platform for sharing best practices for achieving great first and lasting impressions! Her clients are men, women and organizations who see the value in image management. Her clients include organizations such as Verizon Wireless, Capitol Concierge, McGuireWoods, LLP, Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Region 8, Resolvit LLC, National Black MBA Association (Washington DC Chapter), and Delta Career Education Corporation.
Prior to launching Harris ImageWorks, LLC Ms. Harris worked for large companies such as Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), ManTech International, MCI WorldCom, and Deloitte & Touche. She has served in marketing and communications, proposal management, business development, and project management related positions – roles that require a high level of professionalism and business communication skills. Moreover, having worked primarily with senior-level managers and executives and often leading large diverse project teams for more than 12 years, she knows how to gain people's attention, how to maintain a professional presence, and how to communicate effectively so that goals and objective s are met.
In addition to her corporate experience, Ms. Harris has also spent time in the retail industry working for Nordstrom as a sales associate where she consistently exceeded sales goals, received excellent customer feedback, and maintained repeat customers. Her work at Nordstrom has afforded her with first-hand customer service experience, personal shopping skills, and added knowledge of style and fashion.
In March 2011 Ms. Harris received training from Stacy London of the hit TLC show What Not to Wear and was invited to be a stylist as part of her Style for Hire network. Ms. Harris holds her First Level Certification (FLC) issued by the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) and was trained and certified as an image consultant under Lynn Marks, AICI, CIM and Dominique Isbecque AICI, CIP, of the London Image Institute and Image Resource Center of New York respectively. Additionally, she possesses her Bachelor in Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in Fashion Merchandising from James Madison University and earned her Master of Business Administration from George Mason University. Ms. Harris currently serves as Vice President Education for the AICI DC Metro Chapter. Ms. Harris has contributed articles to IAMMODERN magazine.
