Renee Lewis
President, Pensare Group
Renee Lewis is the President of the Pensare Group, an organization focused on helping leaders achieve meaningful results through alignment and build teams that excel in performing against common goals. With more than 25 years of building successful businesses and business units she has a passion to share “survival” techniques with others who can use them to create their own competitive advantage.
Trained as a software engineer (recovering), Renee has worked across broad ranges of industries including high-tech, e-learning, insurance and finance, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. She has always leveraged her love of software engineering principles (that is, designing for efficiency and effectiveness) and getting things done through others (that is, managing difficult teams). Her most interesting adventures were turning around and then selling a technology company to Cerner, and creating a viable and productive team after a four-company merger targeting eLearning markets.
After reflecting on the fact she’s been directly involved in leading eight start-up companies, Renee finally realized she has a particular love for entrepreneurship and creating thriving businesses that are also fun to work in. As such, she is also the co-Founder of the Path Forward Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship where she manages and instructs this year-long ACTiVATE Program, an entrepreneurship program for women who want to build a technology-based business that grows beyond one. Path Forward is the 2011 - National WIPP AT&T Innovators of the Year award.
