Speaker Bio
Joanna Pineda
CEO, Matrix Group International, Inc.
In 1999, Joanna Pineda founded Matrix Group in a shared office space in the historic DC area of Georgetown. Under her leadership, Matrix Group has blossomed into one of the top interactive agencies in the Washington D.C. area, employing more than 40 employees—all who bring exceptional talent and expertise to the table.
As a trusted advisor, Joanna inspires and motivates her clients and employees alike to simply, "be better." Joanna’s mantra: "DO or DO NOT. There is NO TRY!" Her mantra combined with her leadership style has been right. Over the last 10 years, Matrix Group has executed high quality online projects for some of the nation’s most recognized organizations and institutions, including the National Park Foundation, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, URAC and the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities.
It is also through Joanna’s vision that the company developed a web-based Association Management Software (AMS) product, MatrixMaxx, which is used by many associations nationally.

In 2009, she was honored by SmartCEO Magazine, as one of its "Top 100 Business Leaders," and by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the top "100 Leaders in the DC Tech World," or as she phrased a leading "techie." In 2004, The Washington Business Journal named her one of the area’s most influential business women.
She has been featured on Executive Leadership Radio and was mostly interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and Forbes Magazine.
